About Long Term Bookings
All Long Term Bookings (LTBs) must be booked through the LTB Coordinator. LTBs are 7 days long. Each Sailing Permit (Joint or Single) in good standing is entitled to ONE long-term booking per year. To qualify for an LTB, please ensure:
- Membership fees are paid. Note: For LTBs on a 30 footer, the non-refundable $375 usage fee is due within 7 days of confirmation of booking.
- Volunteer hours are completed, submitted and approved by April 30th. Note: If you cannot complete hours, you can pay to bring yourself back into good standing.
- Orientation 5 is completed. Note: Completion of a qualifying navigation course is required to attempt Orientation 5.
- Orientation 30 is completed if you are taking your LTB on a 30 foot boat.
Volunteer Hours
A percentage of your required volunteer hours must be completed before taking your long term booking.
- Single memberships require at least 21 hours before April 30th (or 10.5 hours for first year members).
- Joint memberships require at least 28 hours before April 30th (or 14 hours for first year members).
Important information for Skippers about your Long Term Booking
Change in your plans?
If you cannot take your allotted booking, it is your responsibility to find a member to take over your booking. Please check the waitlist before posting to the website. If you have paid a non-refundable $375 LTB booking fee for a 30 footer, please coordinator reimbursement directly with the member that is taking over your booking.
Turnover
Please plan to be off the boat by 6pm on the last day of your booking unless you’ve made prior arrangements with the skipper after you. Alternatively skippers may choose to turnover at any mutually agreed location and time, however please keep the Long–Term Booking Coordinator informed. You must turnover your cleaned boat at the appointed time and place or as arranged with the following Skipper. Gas, propane and water tanks must be full and the holding tank empty. Please use pump-out facilities unless you are more than three miles from shore.
Accidents, Damages and Maintenance
If the boat needs attention, notify the Long Term Booking Coordinator and Fleet Captain immediately. You are responsible if there is loss or damage to the boat or anything on board, during your booking. Please remember the spirit of the coop and if you have the ability to address required boat repairs during your booking, please do so rather than leaving it for the next skipper to deal with. There is nothing less cooperative than having to cancel the next LTB because the previous skipper decided not to address an issue, allowing it to become a bigger issue that takes the boat out of service.
