My Way Radar Reflector Removed for Repairs

Hi all, the wire harness for the radar reflector on My Way was corroding and ready to fail, so I have removed it, and taken it home to install a new harness. I will post another update when it has been reinstalled.

According to Transport Canada, radar reflectors are generally required for boats under 20 m and boats built of mostly non-metallic materials, however a radar reflector is not required if the boat is used in limited traffic conditions, daylight and favourable environmental conditions, and where having a radar reflector is not essential to the boat’s safety.

Rigging Work

Hello fellow sailors, I’m back with the coop after a 2 year hiatus, and looking forward to the upcoming sailing season! At the AGM, I spoke with a few of you and it appears that my old job as the “Rigging Guy” is available, so I’m happy to step back into that role, unless anyone else wanted to run with this. If so, let me know.

As in past years, I will do a thorough inspection on all boats of all standing and running rigging, all lines, blocks, fasteners and anything else rigging related. Anything I find that looks out of sorts will be repaired / replaced as needed.

If any of you are aware of any specific rigging related deficiencies, please let me know, so I can make a note of these items for attention this year.
